Never seen you live, though I hope to relatively soon.
Just wanted to say that I think you guys are absolutely amazing and always the band I turn to when I need some fucking sense knocked into me. Needless to say, your music has saved me from a hell of a lot...and trust me, I've been through a lot! Haha. Hope all is well in 'Tallicaland and thanks for being such a GREAT inspiration not only to me, but all us fans who appreciate you and what you do!

Ms. Tammie - March 22, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Hi guys!

It's good to get a chance to send a short message to you. Some people feel your music has a negative impact on culture. As a mother of three handsome boys, I profoundly disagree. To the contrary, I find your music to be some of the most positive out there. I encourage my boys to listen to your music, and I find that they are actually less agressive while listening to Metallica than when listening to other things. I truly believe that listening to your albums is a means of working out one's agression responsibly. And for that, on behalf of my three young boys and myself, I thank you!

And to James, you are such an inspiration to me. I admire you and how you have overcome difficulties in your life. Keep up the good fight, we all stand behind you!

:horns: Much love, :horns2

Hi guys!

I can't wait to see you this summer again, thank God this time you're coming to Italy and I won't have to drive for thousands miles!! I think you know that fans are going crazy waiting for your new album ... at least I do hope we'll hear some new stuff in this tour. In a couple of years I'll bring my eleven years old daughter with me at concerts, so, please, keep on rocking !!!

See you in Bologna !!!

Love :horns2

Monica, Italy.

TheDutchess - March 22, 2008 11:43 AM (GMT)
Hey guys!

Just wanna say: keep rocking, you guys are doing a great job!

Your music is helping me through difficult times. I can relate to most of the lyrics, so that's a helping hand for me.

Oh, my líttle brother Chris is wondering why there are so less small-size Metallica ahirts (he is 13 years old, and almost 5' tall :wink ) He wants more Met-shirts, but it's so difficult to find 'em :P

I'll hope you come by to Holland soon, since I can't go to Pinkpop, it's too far away and my parents won't let me go...

Well, that's my babble!

Lotsa love & respect,

Jennifer (15)

The Unforgiven One - March 22, 2008 12:49 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,

Jee, what to say in one short message, huh?
I've been a true fan since I was 7 and your music never left my life. Your music really helped me getting through hard stuff. But if I'm totally honest, I must say that not only your music helped me; your personalities did as well. Especially after seeing Some Kind Of Monster. I recognized a lot of myself in you, James and you might not realize it, but some things you said in that DVD really helped me to sort my own life out. But in the end all of you did.

So, I'll see you at pinkpop in Holland!

Love&Respect,
Anne,
The Netherlands

Fade_To_Black - March 22, 2008 03:32 PM (GMT)
Heya guys!!!!

I hope you are all having a great day!!! I cannot express how much you lot mean to me. I watched you guys play on the Live Earth concert that you took part in, and as soon as Sad But True kicked in, i was crying my eyes out haha. I think it was then that i realised just how much Metallica as a whole mean to me. :) I guess my life really is a case of Birth, School, Metallica, Death!!!!

The four of you individually, mean so much, but James, you really are a true hero of mine. What you have created with the rest of Met is a true inspiration. Also, what you have overcome has deeply effected my life as i can see many things that i feel as a person, within what you went though, especially in Some Kind Of Monster. I know i cant comment on that much, cause i dont know you, but i do know that you and Metallica have really helped me become a better person, and have helped me with my demons.

Cant wait for the new album and tour!!! Please come to Nottingham...pretty please! We have a great arena here :biggrin ...just a thought! You guys kick ass!!!

Much love & respect,
Laura, Nottingham x

Chanba - March 22, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
Hey Guys!!!
Greetings from the cold North...well not really cold anymore its spring now!
Just wanted to say a big hello and hope you guys are all doing well. Thanks for being the most awesome, kickass, loud and most wicked cool band out there!
We're looking forward to the next album and hopefully in the near future the next North American Tour....uh 'cough' could you possibly sneak in some Canadian dates? Possibly Winnipeg?
Been a fan ever since the Black Album, I was 7 then and will forever thank my older brother for introducing me to Metallica. And now my little 9 year old brother has been recently introduced and is in the next generation of fans. You've influenced three generations of siblings in this family, how awesome is that?
Have a great Record Store Day and take care guys!
love and respect and much apperciation,
Chantal

ps. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Princess Charming - March 23, 2008 06:05 AM (GMT)
OMGZ! I am so fucking jealous that I am not in that fucking record store right now.

Metallica! Reno loves you! You have a lot of fans up here.

James, you get sexier with age! Keep on kicking ass and getting tattoos!

Larz, you are so awsome! I know you HATE hearing people say that, but it's so true! I bow at your tiny little Danish feet.

Kirk! Keep zen and peaceful and centered and all that shiz. Shred hard!

Roberto, keep making awsomely funny faces whenever someone takes a photo of you. Live large, you bass monster bad-ass motherplucker!

Metallica, never stop doing what you do! Much love,

Cynthia, Reno

Fortunate One - March 23, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)

James,

From one music nut to another...

you *MUST* give Neko Case a listen.

She's sort of a female Jonny Cash. Pick up 'Blacklisted' and 'Fox Confessor Brings the Flood'. You're in a record store right now, so you might as well do it. Seriously- her voice will shake you to the core.

I've been saving this information to try and share with you at a Meet and Greet, but since I'm pretty sure I won't get to one anytime in the near future, I thought I might get it to you this way.

Sorry for the ginormous font, but wanted to make sure you saw this message and PAID ATTENTION!

Much love,
Maisy

Pink Diamond - March 24, 2008 05:14 AM (GMT)

 KIRK

The first time I heard a Metallica song, Wherever I may roam , I thought it was pretty cool but when the guitar solo came screaming in... my heart was stolen!
I got myself a guitar and decided that one day I will be able to play all those mind-blowing solo's.

I saw you perform last summer in Aarhus, Denmark and it was the best thing ever! I was at the front row, maybe you can remember me, I had signs saying "Metal up your ass!!" and "Guitar Pick please" then at the end of the show you asked a guard to let him give your pick to me.. thank you so incredibly much for that! That moment was a dream come true. It was very magical for me. I hope you remember it too! Thanks again..

Now Kirk, you mentioned you watch videos on Youtube in the latest SoWhat issue. It would really mean alot to me if you'd take a look at my videos in which I play guitar and it would ofcourse make my day, no wait.. make my life if you would even send me a Youtube message with your opinion in it, if you'd like! Hehe
Just typ in "Cizzie888" at the search bar and there I'll be! Waiting for you to be found.

Metallica's music is a big inspiration and motivation for me, thank you so much.

Well, I'm counting down the days to see you at Pinkpop-Holland, Kirk. I'll be there in the front row ready with my signs! :biggrin

Much love,
:horns: Cissie :horns2

Hi James!
Hi Lars!
Hi Kirk!
Hi Robert!
It's Kelly and I've been a fan for 8 years. When I saw you guys playing "Fade To Black" live on VH1 I was hooked. Metallica means the world to me. Actually, not just the band but you guys altogether. To a die hard fan, whenever Metallica is brought up, we just don't think about the music, we think about you guys. I appreciate you guys so much that it's so hard to describe. Even if I could describe it, I'd never be able to write/type it all down.
I've seen a lot these past 8 years, both good and bad. Mostly bad. I began as a 10 year old girl and now I'm 18 and getting ready to start my life, and I know for sure you guys will be there every step of the way. I hope you guys understand the impact you have on us fans everyday.

So I just wanted to say thanks for always being there for me when I needed it. I can't wait to hear the new record and to see you guys on tour again! It will be 4 years on October 1st since the last Tallica concert I was at. It was an amazing show by the way! October 1st, 2004 The Palace Of Auburn Hills, was on the the greatest days of my life. Kirk and Robert made it even better with throwing me some guitar picks! I carry those with me everyday in my wallet :)

I hope all is well with everyone, along with your beautiful families!

Thank you so much again. Have a wonderful day!

Much love and respect for forever and a half,
<3

PS, I heard some stories about when you guys played in Saginaw in the late 80's at the Saginaw Civic Center (now the Dow Event Center) and you stopped in Bridgeport at the TA truck stop to eat burritos before getting back onto the freeway! Stop by again! But I'm not sure if they have burritos there still but now Bridgeport has a Taco Bell and other fast food choices, which are open in the wee hours of the night. :) Hell, even play at the Dow again...it's small but worth it! You can even crash at my house afterwards! haha

You and your music make me happy and I'm also so happy that I can finally see you at Pinkpop May 30th. I'm still waiting for the next album, I'm very curious what it will sound like! Metallica, I love you guys so much! Just to get a chance to write to you, this is something I've wanted to do for so long. To tell you you how much I adore you with all my heart! I wish I could be there to meet you, but there's an ocean between us. Damn the ocean! I'd swim there, but chances are I'd get eaten by a shark. So instead, I'll just tell you that you guys rock and pray and cross my fingerz that you read this. James you are SOOOOO handsome! I love your face, and I don't care what color your hair is or how long you grow your beard! Your handsomeness comes from your soul. Never lose that beautiful soul. And Lars? There isn't a time that I think about you and don't smile! You just bring laughter to my soul, because you seem to have happiness within you. Robert, you make me feel energized. You have a young soul, one that is full of energy. Never lose that! And lastly, Kirk. I'm sure you hear this a lot, but you are the glue that holds it all together. You are the balance and the zen of Metallica. Your seem to be the force that keeps everyone down to earth and humble. And therefore, you are the most important soul of them all.

I love you all so much! There is a great connection between us (the fans) and you (Metallica), one that I can't describe, but one that I know is there. That is what makes you different from the others. You're so great, but you don't act like you are entitled to greatness. That humbleness is what keeps the fans so close to you.

Health and safety be with you and your loved ones,

Mariah

Hello!
I wish you have a great time at the record store day! I wish I'd be able to be there too, unfortunetely I live pretty much on the other side of the planet. But no worries, thank god for touring! I wish nothing more that to meet you all one day..
But getting this tiny little chance to write to you means alot to me, hell.. you guys mean the fucking world to me! The music you give life to is truly the most amazing music I've ever heard in my life. I guess it started out with one of my bro's old CDs, where I accidentely stumbled upon Fade To Black, I had no idea that it was Metallica but I was stunned!! I fell in love with all of it, it's the best headbanging music in the world, it gets me pumped up and makes me wanna mosh and just go crazy!! Which I usually do..

Your music has spared my life from alot of misery and pain, even saved it!
I've never loved a band as much as I've loved Metallica, from the moment I heard it for the first time. In all my darkest hours and bad days and.. times where I just wanna throw in the towle and give it all up and say goodbye, but then I remember;Metallica, and I pop in any of your CDs, and I decide to go on, and I get the feeling that everything will eventually be alright, that life IS worth living, and that you gotta live it to the fullest.
I just want to say thank you! And I know the new album is gonna be fucking awesome! I can't fucking wait for it
I hope we'll be seeing you guys around here soon again, tho you were here in 2007. That gig was purely amazing!! The best gig I've ever attended. I still get chills up my spine when I remember the feeling I got when I heard the beginning of Ecstasy Of Gold and I knew you were gonna come out on the stage any minute.

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
AND ROCK THE FUCK ON

Metal Up Your Ass
all my respect and love
