Title: Lady & the Tramp
Description: Highschool James fic
TheDutchess - March 27, 2008 07:58 PM (GMT)
I hope the title shows the idea :wink
What I would like, is someone who wants to write this fanfic together. So, one types James's POV, and the other the 'Lady's' POV.
Anyone? Or do you have questions?
Lucifer's Angel - March 28, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
Do you want to James, or do the Lady part? I love old school Metallica fics :) Sorry I didn't read your other story, I don't care much for Slash. And any specific thing you want?
TheDutchess - March 28, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
I like to have the James part :)
And ehm, not the whole story is slash :wink
Any special things....
Uhm jeah, the 'lady' must have a 'stuck-up' name, you know, to really show the difference between em.
Lucifer's Angel - March 28, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Okay, I gotcha. And when do you want to start, and who goes first?
TheDutchess - March 29, 2008 11:29 AM (GMT)
I'll start.
James's POV
"I got the beer," Dave whispered.
"Really, man?" I said, smiling. "Great!"
"Hetfield! Marrs! Quiet please, and pay attention!" the teacher sneered.
I sighed. I hated school. And especially math lessons. Who cares about 3x + 11 = 6? Not me!
"Hey, James, watch this," Dave said. He took a piece of paper out of his notebook, wrote something, muzzled it and threw it to me.
"Writing notes, huh?" the teacher said, and got the paper out of my hand. She opened the muzzled paper. "Who of you wrote this?!" she barked, and showed the paper. 'Give me my paper back, bitch,' it said.
I burst out in laughter, and gave Dave, who was also laughing out loud, a high five.
"Good work, man!" I laughed.
"No problem!" Dave smiled.
"Marrs! Hetfield! OUT!!!"
Still laughing, we got our things together and left the classroom.
"Time for drinking beer in the sun," Dave said.
"Definitely," I grinned.
"Pardon, can I ask you something?"
We both turned around. A girl was standing in the corridor. Her brown hair was tied together. She wore a long dark green dress, that matched with her greenish eyes.
"What do you want?" Dave asked.
"I just wanted to know... You see I'm new here, and I don't know the way."
"Oh, okay," I said. "Where do you have to go?"
wishfulthinker82 - March 29, 2008 01:43 PM (GMT)
like what i've read so far! :tu:
Lucifer's Angel - March 29, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
Lady's POV
I'm lost. It's my first day of school, I don't know anyone here, it's so different from schools back in England.
I see two young boys my age, they're laughing and so happy. One of them is short with shaggy brown hair, wearing a black t-shirt and ripped jeans. The other is tall, with long blond hair and blue eyes, his t-shirt is also black and says Motorhead. What sort of band is that?
"Pardon, can I ask you something?", I ask.
The brown-haired boy turns to face me. "What do you want?", he asks.
"I just wanted to know...You see, I'm new here, and I don't know the way".
The blue-eyed boy looks in my direction. Oh dear, he has lovely eyes. Don't be silly, I remind myself. "Oh, okay. Where do you have to go?", he asks.
"Uh, I have trouble finding my Literature class. Where is room #314?", I ask.
"Hey, you're British? Cool", said the brown-haired boy.
"Yes, my family moved here during the summer, we're from Brighton originally", I reply.
"Cool, that's near London, right? I don't know too much about England, except for Iron Maiden, Motorhead, stuff like that? You like them?", asked the blue-eyed boy.
"What are those? I've never heard of them", I said.
"What? Those bands are so fucking rad, we gotta play you some", said the brown-haired boy. "Oh, I'm Dave Marrs and this is James Hetfield. Who are you?", he asks.
"I'm Esmeralda Reynolds. Very glad to meet you two gentlemen", I said, extending my hand.
Dave and James shook my hand, Dave's grip is firm and hard, James's grip more gentle. I feel strange when he touches my hand, my belly is doing flip flops. Stop that, you are being a ninny, I remind myself.
"Okay, follow me, Miss Esmeralda", says James, a twinkle in his eyes.
wishfulthinker82 - March 29, 2008 05:24 PM (GMT)
Giggidy so far can't wait for more
maisy blue - March 29, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
I like it! :) I like this two author stuff. I'd love to try this out myself.
TheDutchess - March 30, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
Glad you like it :)
James's POV
Walking through the corridor, I can't take my eyes of Esmeralda, but I try not to let it show.
"James, you want your beer here?" Dave asks. He opens his bag and takes two bottles out of it.
"Alrighty," I say, and take hold of the bottle. He gives me the bottle-opener, I open my bottle, and drink the gold fluid.
"Are you allowed to drink alcohol at school?" Esmeralda asks.
"Uh, well, not really," I say.
She gives us a weird look, but keeps walking.
"There it is, at the end of the hall," I say, pointing the right way.
"Oh, okay, thank you," Esmeralda says.
"Shit," I hear Dave whisper suddenly.
One of the teachers is coming our way.
"We, uh, we need to go," I say.
"Okay, goodbye," Esmeralda says, waving.
Dave and I run away, out of the halls of school to the schoolyard, and then we hide behind 'our' wall.
"Pweh, right on time," Dave sighs.
"Yeah, luckily," I say, trying to catch my breath, and taking another sip of my beer. "What do you think of Esmeralda?" I ask Dave.
"I dunno," he answers. "She is so… polite and all that shit. Spoilt brat. I bet her parents are rich."
"Yeah, definitely," I say, letting out a loud burp.
"There you are."
We looked up and we saw our mentor.
Damn. Busted.
wishfulthinker82 - March 30, 2008 10:52 AM (GMT)
Oh lor' their in trouble now!! more please :P
Lucifer's Angel - March 30, 2008 12:20 PM (GMT)
Esmeralda's POV
What nice boys, but strange. Don't they know they're not supposed to be drinking in school? Boys would've never done that when I was in school, back in Brighton.
I look back and see that their mentor has found out. Poor boys, they don't seem to bad, and they did help me find the class. James is so cute, I already like him. Too bad my parents would never approve, they would pitch a fit.
I find the classroom, peering inside. The teacher is writing something on the chalkboard, as the students write it down. Let's see, they are studying Wuthering Heights? I love that book, I so want to be Catherine, and James can be Heathcliff. Wait, did I just think that?
With a heavy sigh, I slowly open the door. The student's heads turn in my direction, all their eyes on me. The teacher looks up, smiling kindly. He's middle aged, wearing a tweed jacket, glasses on his bald head. He doesn't look too bad.
"Hello there, you must be the new student", he says.
"Uh, yes. I am Esmeralda Reynolds, I moved here during the summer. Is this Room #314?", I ask, hating the quiver in my voice.
"Yes it is, Miss Reynolds. Please take a seat, and you can tell us about yourself. I am Mr. Smithson", he says.
I nod, my heart pounding with nervousness. I take a seat all the way in the back, not wanting the other kids to notice.
"Don't sit in the back like that, sit next to Claudia", he says, pointing to a blond girl in a cheerleading outfit.
I sigh, thinking that she looks like a bloody idiot. I can smell the hairspray on her, her hair is so bright yellow it makes me ill.
"Tell us about yourself", he says.
"Uh, my name is Esmeralda Reynolds, I'm originally from Brighton. My parent's company transferred them here, I moved here during the summer", I say.
"Really? Is that in New York?", asks Claudia.
"No, miss, that's in England", I say. What a twat, she's so bleeding dumb.
"Interesting. What sort of literature did you study?", he asks.
"We were doing Sir Walter Scott in the last form. My favorite of his is Lady of Lammermoor, sir", I reply.
"Wonderful. I was thinking about doing American authors soon, but Sir Walter Scott sounds wonderful. Maybe we'll fit him in somewhere", he said, as the others glared at me. Great, this is going to be a long school year.
Verity - March 30, 2008 02:35 PM (GMT)
I loved the bit with Dave and James drinking at school. It rocked and kicked ass. :) It also made me giggle.
Battery - March 30, 2008 06:36 PM (GMT)
Hey hey, I like this!
I like how Esmeralda called Dave and James 'gentlemen' :wink and when Dave wanted to play her Iron Maiden and Motorhead
I'm looking forward to reading more!
And btw, I LOVE Wuthering Heights, great book :horns2
TheDutchess - March 31, 2008 09:28 AM (GMT)
James's POV
"How many times do I have to say it?" our mentor sneers. "No alcohol at school!"
"Man, just one beer!" Dave says.
Our mentor reaches out and grabs my beer.
"You son of a bitch! Give that back!" I say, standing up. Ha, I'm much taller than he is.
"No, I won't give it back."
"You give that back, or I'll kick your ass," I say, threatening. I'm feeling strong. He's so small and skinny. I can take him.
"You know you can't do that," our mentor says.
"Go James!" Dave yells.
"Maybe you want me to stick to the rules," I say, grabbing the collar of his pullover and lifting him from the ground. "But you know damn well you must not steal, so give me my fucking beer back."
"No way."
"You want me to smash you?" I say, my hand in the air ready to hit him.
"No," he peeps.
I grab the bottle. He lets it go, still scared. Pussy.
"Thank you," I say, letting him go.
"This is the last time," he says, pointing his shaking hand at me, before walking away.
"Whatever, dude." I sit down next to Dave and drink my beer.
"Great job, man," Dave says, grinning. "You saw how scared he was?"
I smile. "He almost crapped his pants!"
We both start laughing hard, as the bell rings as a sign the lesson is over.
wishfulthinker82 - March 31, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
oooooooooo i hate that being the new kid in the class its horrid!!!! those naughty boys!! woo great updates guys
Lucifer's Angel - March 31, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
Esmerald's POV
Finally, school is over. The final bell rings in my ears, as I hurry out of school. The kids here are so dull, my initial impression was right.
I quickly hurry out of school, not wanting to catch anyone's eye. Well, except for James. I wonder if he got caught, he is so brave, but reckless. I wish I could do that, but my parents would pitch a fit.
The Rolls Royce pulls up to the curb, as the chaffeur opens the door. I turn red as the kids all stare, some envious and some shocked, as I get inside.
"How was your day, Miss Esmeralda?", asked the chaffeur Henry.
"It was okay, Henry. My fellow students are not terribly bright, in fact they are quite thick. Where are Mother and Father?", I ask.
"They're at work, Miss Esmeralda. Ellen is preparing supper, they will be home later this evening", he replies, as he drives away.
Again, my parents are working late again. Their company transferred them to Los Angeles over the summer, they work really long hours. I'm an only child, and it gets lonely. I know my mother would never approve of James or Dave, she might very well go into apoplexy. James is so cute, and he's dangerous. If only we could go out together, it would be so much fun. But my parents would never approve. After all, I am a Reynolds, and we have a reputation to uphold.
wishfulthinker82 - March 31, 2008 02:57 PM (GMT)
Go Es do it become friends with James just to spite your parents lol great update
Battery - March 31, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
Whoa!! James was brutal to his 'mentor'. Pood Esmeralda, I really hope she'll find a way to be with James, but I smell troubles on their way :(
Verity - April 1, 2008 01:09 AM (GMT)
She's falling for the bad boy! :D Dave and James together are priceless and make me laugh.
I hope Esmerelda and James will get together. I'm sure that he'd show her a good time. :wink
maisy blue - April 1, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
I want James to go to Es' house and keep her company.
TheDutchess - April 1, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
James' POV
Within seconds, the schoolyard is full of students. Dave and I are sitting against our wall, looking at all the people. I'm still surprised by all the different kinds. Hippies, punks, fatties, rich fuckers. And us, Dave and I, the metalheads without cash.
"Wow, look at that!" Dave whispers, pointing at a blond girl.
"What are you waiting for?" I reply. "Go for it."
"Wish me luck," Dave says, standing up.
I stare at him talking to the blond girl. I wish I could do that. But no, I'm too fucking shy. I hate that. That's one of the things I hate about myself.
I wish I had the guts to talk to Esmeralda, one on one. But… I can't. She's too good for me. And what if she wants to go home with me? I can't take her home! Then I would have to explain everything…
When I hear the familiar sound of a car, I wake up from my thoughts and look up.
A big Rolls Royce stops in front of the school.
"Fuck man," I sigh, gazing at the beautiful car. My jaw nearly drops when I see Esmeralda stepping in.
"James, do you want a fly to visit your mouth?" Dave says. He stands in front of me with his arm around the girl.
I quickly close my mouth. "Did you see that?" I stutter, pointing at the Rolls Royce that's driving off.
"Oh, yeah," Dave says, not interested. "I told you she was a spoilt brat."
"Yeah," I say, eyes to the ground.
"Is that a friend of yours?" the blond girl asks trying to speak soft. "He's weird."
"Shh, Claudia, not so loud," Dave whispers
"I heard that," I say.
Lucifer's Angel - April 1, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)
Esmeralda's POV
The car parks in the driveway, and Henry opens the door. Our new house is in a posh suburb of LA, it's on a hill looking down on the city. It is so very hot outside, unlike Brighton.
It is dark inside, the only light coming from the kitchen. "Hello, Miss Esmeralda. How was school, would you like anything?", asks Ellen, the family cook.
"Yes, Ellen. That sounds good", I say.
"You're a growing girl, you need to eat plenty, you're getting big. How was school?", she asks, as she bustles about the kitchen.
"It was okay, I suppose. We're studying Wuthering Heights in English class. The other classes are alright, I guess", I shrug.
"Good, good. I heard such bad things about American schools, that the children are thick, if not violet. Have you met any friends?", she asks, setting down a sandwich in front of me.
I take a bite; it's bologna and cheese. It tastes much better compared to the stuff in the cafeteria. "Well, I got lost and these two boys helped me find my class", I say.
"Two boys, eh? What sort of boys?", she asks, but I can hear the undertone in her voice.
"Dave and James. They wore jeans and black t-shirts, but were ever so nice", I say.
"You know your parents would never approve, you are a Reynolds after all. They don't sound that respectable", she says disapprovingly.
"I know, Ellen", I sigh.
wishfulthinker82 - April 1, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
go on girl do everything your parents said not to do!!!!!!! loving it btw
Verity - April 1, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
Ellen sounds kind of bitchy. I hope that Esmerelda won't take her advice, and will give James a chance.
Awesome!
TheDutchess - April 2, 2008 02:34 PM (GMT)
James' POV
When I come home, I walk into my bedroom and slam the door as a sign I'm home, and plump down on my bed. Why does it have to be like this? Why do I feel so confused?
Tears are forming in my eyes, as my half brother David walks in.
"James, how many times do I have to say it: no slam- Hey, what's wrong?"
"Leave me alone," I say, knowing he wouldn't.
He sits down on my bed. "Jamie?"
"Fuck off," I say angry. Why doesn't he go? I'm not in the mood for this.
"Hey, don't be so rude, I just want to help you," he says.
"I don't need your help," I murmur.
David lays his hand on my back, just between my shoulders. "Something's bothering you, uh?"
"Yeah," I say softly.
"What is it? Maybe I can help," he says.
"You can't," I say. "I don't wanna tell you."
"Jamie, you know you shouldn't bottle things up."
"I know," I say. Okay, end of conversation. Now fuck off.
"Jamie? Jamie, look at me," David says.
I look up, right in his eyes. "What?" I say irritated.
"I don't want you to be grumpy the whole day," he sighs.
"I know," I say.
"Say, James, I just got a phone call," David says, giving me a stern look.
"Shit," I whispered.
"Did you fight with a teacher, Jamie?"
"Sort of."
"Why?"
"He stole my beer!"
David starts to laugh. "Oh, of course. There is no way he could part you and your beloved beer."
"Shut up."
"Okay, sorry," David smiles. "I'm being serious now. What did you do to him?"
"Just asked if he could give my fucking beer back... and said that if he didn't do that, I'd hit him."
Dave sighs. "You'll never change, Jamie..."
"Stop callin' me Jamie!" I yelled.
Verity - April 2, 2008 03:04 PM (GMT)
The Jamie thing made me laugh. Especially at the end when he told his brother not to call him that anymore. :)
You do well writing James as a grumpy, surly, teenager. I hope the teacher gives him his beer back. He needs the love of a woman. :wink
wishfulthinker82 - April 2, 2008 03:12 PM (GMT)
Cool update more please!!!!! :biggrin
Lucifer's Angel - April 2, 2008 03:28 PM (GMT)
Esmeralda's POV
After I finish the sandwich, I go upstairs to my room, closing the door. I sigh, wondering why mother wouldn't let me pick out the decoration myself.
My room is pink, girly-girl pink. Everything is pink and frilly, it's suffocating. My mother chose it, said it would be appropriate for a girl. I wish I could have decorated it myself, but it is so pink, it actually makes me nauseous.
The bed rises like a monster, a pink, frilly creature. The bedspread is pink, the color of an Easter bunny, covered in ribbons and lace. The pillows are the same color, so are the walls, the carpet and the furnishings.
If I could, I would have decorated it in something more subtle. I saw a furniture display in a shop, it was all dark wood and green and brown velvet, I loved it. But mother said it was inappropriate, that it was a boy's room, not suitable for a girl.
I close the door, making sure that Ellen is downstairs. I open the drawer, my heart pounding. Inside are my records, Mum would have a fit if she saw them. Led Zeppelin I&II, Let it Bleed, Machine Head. My Uncle Edwin is an old hippie, he gave me these records last year, he had to hide it from Mum.
I cannot believe him and Mum are related. Mum is so anal, but uncle is such a free spirit, he went to Knebworth every year back in the day.
I take out Zeppelin II, place it in the tape machine and put on the headphones. Closing my eyes, Whole Lotta Love transports me far away. Here there are no stupid tossers, no Mum, no Ellen. I wonder if James likes this sort of music?
wishfulthinker82 - April 2, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)

Though I must say that her pink frilly room sounded heavenly and very cozy. I'd take it. :) I love pink

James' POV
"Man, James, what happened to you?" Dave ask when I walk in the classroom.
"Wake up call," is the only thing I say. My hair is soaking wet, sticking onto my face.
Dave laughs. "Glad I don't have that!"
"Hmm, yeah," I say, leaning against the wall of the room. Everyone is talking. Susie and Linda, the two most irritating girls of the class, are talking so loud; I can hear everything they're saying.
"Oh, I hate my parents!" Susie says.
"Me too," Linda says. "They're always picking on me."
"That's what I mean!" Susie says. "Sometimes I wish they were dead."
"You don't!" I shout. How could she say something like that? I'm feeling more and more rage, and I run out of the classroom.
"Hetfield, come back!"
I don't even hear it anymore. I run to the wall and let me fall on the ground with my back against the wall. Why would your wish your parents dead? I don't understand!
Tears are forming in my eyes, and I'm trying hard not to cry. I don't get it, I really don't...

Lucifer's Angel - April 4, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
Esmeralda's POV
I have the music turned down low, I have to hear if my parents are coming. It's frustrating, Deep Purple should be played loud, Smoke on the Water is made to cranked up.
I hear the front door open, a sinking sensation in the pit of my stomach. I turn off the tape, taking the headphones off. Ellen's and my parents voice drift upwards, I can barely comprehend what they're saying.
I get up from the bed, looking through my closet. All the dresses she buys me are frilly and lacey, I look like damn Little Bo Peep. I loved how James and Dave dressed, I would love to wear jeans and a black t-shirt. But I don't even own a pair of trousers, Mum says it's unfeminine. I'd bet that James loves girls who were black t-shirts and jeans, his jeans were so tight, I could see his bum. Wait, did I just think that.
The door opens and Mum walks in. Luckily, I hid the tapes. I can smell her perfume, her high heels squeaking on the floor. "How was your day, Esmeralda?", she asks.
"It was fine, Mum", I reply.
"Good, I don't want to hear anything about how you are failing. And I want you to make friends, but make sure they are proper, like there are any proper people here in California. Remember, you are a Reynolds, you have a name to uphold", she says, as she leaves the room.
