I would never burn my fingers on that. IMO you shouldn't even try.
It's not that the set from ebay is that expensive. It may just be a bit hard to apply them to your guitar neck. I did it myself, but I can imagine that some people will have trouble at their attempt to get them on.
Oh and before I forget. You need to cover up the existing dots on your fretboard before you apply them!! I used some brown paint I had laying around, but there are more options possible.

How long ago did you do that Max? Does it take much abuse?

A couple of weeks ago.
They come on some kind of transperent sheet on a waxed piece of paper. You have to cut every figure induvidually. Be precise, because when you don't, there will be a gap between the fret and the figure. Then you can you just press them on your fretboard. Be sure to press hard acouple of times. Then you can take the transperent sheet off and they will be done.
You just have to take your time with it, but it's not like it takes a whole morning to do it.

According to the seller, you can take them off again anytime without damage.

I just bought the Wolf one, and Kirks spider one

The wolf inlays didn't require me to use a ruler. I just used my eyes. But for other kind of inlays like the spider, I'd use a ruler otherwise they may get off center.

Burn your fingers painting?? Dude,never heard of such a thing...unless I'm reading you wrong...I've been painting shit for years and my fingers never got burned...I'm guessing you mean something else...?

what's going on after a while that you've been playing with it ? do they resist well to intensive bends and so on ?

Well I play mostly rhythm so no intensive soloing all the time. But so far there's no problems. (And when I bend it's not like my fingers make heavy contact with the board...that would only be the case with really low frets) I'd expect them to last for a long time.
I have very dry hands/fingers most of the time and my fretboards rarely need any cleaning.
I do oil my fretboards a couple of times a year, and I wonder how that will turn out with these things. Because I figured that once the oil gets somehow sucked in and UNDER the stickers, they may come off? I don't know.

I think it's also gonna be a problem when I have to polish my frets. Because then I will tape off the fretboard so that the board won't be damaged/get dirty by the polish. But when I will take the tape off, I'm affraid the inlays will stick to the tape rather than stay on the board. :wink

In the end: Real inlays FTW. But the stickers are a nice cheap pimp to your guitar.

Max, heb je die inlays via internet gekocht? Ik zou ook wel een setje willen maar ik heb geen zin om dat via Ebay te doen.

Ebay is de enige optie. Ik heb ook geen ebay account, maar ik ken een vent uit de gitaarwinkel die dat voor me kan doen.

Hoeveel waren ze? En zou je ook een setje voor mij kunnen bestellen denk je?

Hmm, die kerel is nogal...raar. Ik heb al vaker wat gevraagd wat te kopen voor me. Ook wel eens een hele gitaar, en dan gaf hij fucking gewoon geen antwoord waardoor ik die veiling misliep. Dus dat is wel kut. Das al 2x keer gebeurd.
Verder duurde het wel even voordat ik hem kon overhalen dat ik wel te vertrouwen was. Dus ik ga binnenkort zelf maar een ebay account maken. Heb ik dat gezeik niet meer. Ik probeer het een beetje te ontwijken allemaal.
Dus als ik dan zeg maar voor een ander wat via hem moet gaan kopen, zie ik niet zo zitten. Maar als ik zelf nog eens een account heb dan laat ik het wel weten, dan wil ik het wel voor je doen. :)

And my cousin has been fucked by Ebay sellers 5 times! I wanted to buy a saddle from Ebay sooo bad and had the money but I was terrified the seller might rip me off...even if their feed back is good...they can turn on you I guess. Ik wilde eigenlijk dat damn zadel!!! :(

I've bought over 200 items on eBay and the only time I was ever ripped off was when a seller sent me a copied DVD instead of the proper DVD

Guess some people are drawn to the wrong sellers some how... that would be my luck.
