So here's my contribute to the cause... I hope you like it... This was written some time ago... And the Jason departure thing was still a hot subject... I don't mean to offend anyone with it...

Part 1

It was a rainy day... The girls were bored to death, but they were trying to keep on a good mood... The next day would be the Metallica's concert and they were enthused. They were not only going to watch Laura’s favorite group, but Jason was back in it as well! And that was the best news the girls could get from Metallica! Anna thought Jason was hot so she wasn't very fond of Robert, and Laura, being the good friend she was, she trashed Robert whenever she could... The girls were best friends since high-school, and that wasn't about to change.
The day had started early for the girls. They got up in the morning and went to the hair saloon, there they got all the girly treatments they could possibly get, then, after lunching junk food (the best food for stressful days like this, according to the girls) they went to their music lesson. They were taking lessons of bass (for Anna) and electric guitar (for Laura), they both knew how to play the acoustic guitar, but they wanted to learn how to play the same instruments of their platonic crushes (Laura had a crush on James). They didn't have any artistic aspiritation, they just wanted to know how to play...and they were getting there!
Anything was useful to keep their minds away of the day to come... The excitement was killing them and there wasn't much left to do. They weren't about to watch the Metallica's DVDs for the 100 time in a month, so they had to find something very absorbing to do... But what? They couldn't stop thinking about the concert to come, they knew the songs but no one knew how it would be. It was their first concert for the new tour and album.... The expectations were high.
Suddenly Laura remembered that there was one girly thing they hadn't done yet! It was the perfect idea! She knew it would light up their moods and distract them! Window shopping! It was the perfect unexpensive thing to do! So they went to the local mall... After a crazy bus ride (the girls were mumbling the Metallica’s songs on a packed bus, the whole trip) they finally arrived to the mall. They started window shopping the more expensive stores, but when they got to the ones they usually buy clothes from, they got in and started choosing the most horrific ones to try on, and make a model show of what not to wear or put together. The girls who worked there didn't mind, actually they were amused by it. The girls were having fun and most importantly they weren't counting the seconds!
But the fun was soon over, and the girls got enough of trying clothes they weren't going to buy... trust me, the clothes were pretty ugly. So the girls strolled around a little more. They started smelling a sweet and familiar smell, and as they turned to the left they see the movie theater. The girls are in sintony as they both thought the same! Pop-corns and a movie with a cute guy! Nothing like a good movie to keep their minds busy! They got in line and decided to watch an action movie with a couple of cute dudes, the movie would start in one hour, so they went to a music store (talking about taking their minds of Metallica...), they couldn't resist... There was a huge poster of the band announcing the concert and the winners of the meet and greet passes, they knew they hadn't win it, but they could know someone who did... they read all 20 names and there was none familiar to them, they were part of a couple of fan clubs and sites, but they didn't know anyone on that list. With moral down they went to buy a big bucket of pop-corns and two sodas, and went to the theater room to watch the movie.
The movie was fine, and when the girls came out of the theater their minds were, for the first time in that day, busy judging the actors... not their performances but their looks... Suddenly they noticed a lot of people heading to the food court; they didn't know what was going on so they approached the place to try to understand what was happening. And they would have, if there wasn't sooooo many people, tall guys, tall girls, and they didn't seem to notice the girls... So the only thing the girls could see was a lot of hair and the back of their sweat shirts. Anna quickly got enough of trying to see anything and the girls decided that if it's not a fight or a fire than it's not that interesting.... They went outside. It was getting dark, the sun had already come down and, surprisingly, it wasn't raining or cold.
With such a promising long night the girls take a chance on having dinner on the deck. They weren't too hungry so they asked for smoothies and were leaning on to ask for ice-creams. After five minutes the conversation got back to Metallica and how would it be, and that it was a smart move to get Jason back, and that this way they have not only one, but two hot dudes on the band, and that the cookie monster voice made all the difference... the girls went on, and on, and on, until they were interrupted: "I'm sorry, I don't want to interrupt, but it's just that I'm hearing my name a lot... And I know it's me because you're talking about Metallica. Is there any problem?"
The girls froze, they blushed instantly. They didn't notice there was someone else on the deck tables... Anna doesn't take her eyes off of her smoothie, so Laura turns to see who it is, and hopefully to answer... But as she turns she starts stuttering, she can't say a word, when she notices that she might be making a full out of herself she turns around just to spill the remaining smoothie all over the table. Anna breaks out laughing as she quickly stands up and tries to help Laura. Laura tries to get up but she stumbles her chair into the guy's chair... There was nothing else that could happen to embarace the girl even more. The guy stands up, he is trying to be nice and helpful, Anna can't contain her laughter no longer so she stands away just looking. She knows Laura isn't going to be grateful but for now that's the best she can do. Laura is trying to look as decent as she possibly can, not thanks to her friend...
She turns around to face the man, she starts looking up (Laura is the regular height for a 24 year old girl), she keeps on moving her head upwards... It isn't that nice, she's starting to feel very small, but on the up side she gets to check him out under the excuse of searching for his eyes... After a complete and thoughtful examination she finally gets eye contact.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you or anything..."-he apologizes
"It's ok. I was thru with it."- She had the clarity to answer, but also the blood to blush along the way.
"I'm James, but I guess you know that... You are?"
"I.... I.... My name is... ah... Laura."- she tries to smile and look as cool as she can, given the circumstances... she isn't as successful as she was hoping, but he doesn't seem to mind with her stuttering.
"I heard you talking about Metallica, Jason and me... I've been trying to understand if you like the change or not, but..."
"Oh! We like the change! It's much better this way! Jason rocks out, and he was always more tuned in the Metallica vibe! Yes! We like the change! What's there not to like?"- With the nervousness Laura starts talking, almost stumbling on words.
"I'm glad! Tomorrow it will be the first time we're gonna play live together, in a long time. We're not sure of the kids' reaction... But it's good to have some positive feedback! Are you ladies going to our concert tomorrow?"
Anna, who was away evaluating the situation, got closer, she stopped laughing and she was sure Jason was nowhere in site. Laura looks at her with a thankful gaze! Anna answers: "Of course we're coming! We wouldn't miss it for the world! It's the true come back of the Metallica boys, nothing can beat that!"- She is trying to be nice, she knows she usually doesn't come out as nice as she would hope, but she tries.
"So tomorrow it will be a kick ass gig with kick ass girls watching! Nice! Real nice!"- It’s another voice, the girls are looking at James’ mouth and it isn't moving, it's definitely another voice Laura looks back to see who it is. The girls suspect that the embaracement isn't over. After being sure, Laura looks at Anna with a mocking smile and turns to keep looking at James. Anna doesn't need to look to know who it is. That smile told her everything she didn't want to know. She starts looking down thinking of a way to get out of there, but she doesn't have the idea or the time to figure it out.
"Would you care to join us?"- Jason asks.
She feels exactly the way Laura did before, and she’s thinking the exact same thing:
“Oh no! With this clothes on? There couldn’t be a worst day for this. My hair… My face… I must look like a gremlin… Of all days it had to be today?!” She looks at her friend hoping to find some sympathy and comfort, but in vain. Laura is having fun with the situation, now that it's reversed, and she feels that it’s payback time…
“Sure! We’d love that! I promise not to spill anything!” – Laura says, avoiding looking directly to James, she heads for a chair.
Anna is static… She can’t believe Laura’s courage; she knows she wants to get even but… Meanwhile, Laura and James sit down, Anna is still standing up. She is too nervous and to embaraced to move. Jason pulls a chair and looks at her inviting her to sit. “He’s being a gentleman? Not that I think he’s rude, but he’s being a gentleman?” that’s what’s going through her mind, but she quickly realizes he’s waiting for her to sit. Her palms are sweaty, and although she feels like running away, she sits.
The boys start talking hoping to break the ice, but the girls are quiet, they smile but they’re not comfortable to say anything, though they’re comfortable to be picking eachother’s arms.
All this nervousness is opening Anna’s appetite so she decides to order a waffle with ice-cream and hot chocolate, she asks Laura who declines, and she now faces the task of asking the guys if they also want one… Laura is tising her, she’s really getting on Anna’s nerves, but she knows that’s the only way Anna will react. And she does, when she finally gets enough of hearing her friend:
“I’m going to ask for a waffle, do you want anything?”
“No thanks. I’m fine!” – James answers.
“Yeah! We’re waiting for our dinner… but thanks anyway!”- Jason replies.
She feels like a fool, but at least she wasn’t cold, she was trying not to be. After a while they were eating and the conversations started to role easily.
“So what are your expectations for tomorrow’s concert? Is there anything in particular you’d like to see?” – James wonders.
“Well, what we were hoping we know we’re going to get! A good concert with all of you together!” – Anna answers promptly with her new found courage!
“Hum! But there isn’t any request? You can ask, really! We’ll try to make it happen!” – Jason reassures.
“You could play my favorite song!” – Laura says enthusiastically
“Which is?” – James wanted to know so he would see if it would fit in their set list.
“Oops! – Laura blushes – It’s “Until it sleeps! I like the roughness.”
“Huh! Really? I thought you were going to say some ballad! That’s cool! I think we can work something out!” – He answers.
“Hey guys! There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you! And I see you’re not alone! Good evening ladies! I’ve come to rescue you from the geriatric brigade!”
The girls break out in laughter as Lars makes fun of James and Jason.
“Nah! We’re cool! But thanks for the concern!” – Anna is laughing all the way…
“Hey! We’re not that old! That ain’t nice.” – Jason is looking angry at Anna, but he soon smiles so she understands that he’s joking.
“What do you want man?” – James asks.
“I was looking for you, and I’m looking for Kirk. Do you know where he is? ‘Cause I can’t find him anywhere…”
“Dude Kirk didn’t come with us… He stayed at the hotel… He said he had a headache…” – James answers wondering what the hack has Lars been doing.
“Oh! Yeah! That’s right! He did! But that doesn’t matter now. Now I could be left alone with the ladies and I wouldn’t mind at all!”
The girls can’t help to feel some discomfort but they also think he’s being nice and funny, and if he is serious about that… well that would be too bad for him, so they laugh, that’s the best thing they can do.
“Ok man. Before you scare them off, would you mind to shut up?” – Jason isn’t very pleased with Lars’ interruption.
The group wasn’t talking about anything serious but they were talking, and now with Lars drawing all the attention to him… The boys weren’t pleased, though they were used to that kind of thing.
Before Lars could sit down to make the girls “some serious company” a cell phone started ringing and the boys soon said their goodbyes to the girls, as they had to leave for some meeting somewhere…
The two girls are left alone. Anna’s stomach starts complaining about the food… She was too nervous to eat and now that she did things weren’t looking pretty. After a while the girls decide to go back home. Useless to say that none of them slept through the night… They spent all night talking about what had happened and joking around, analyzing the boys – how they look, what they said, the way they moved… Anything they could remember was being thoroughly discussed.

Part 2

It's finaly morning! The girls are exausted, they haven't slept not even one hour... Their minds are going on the speed of light... As soon as the sun rises they get up. While Laura is taking a shower, Anna is making a huge breakfast for both as their both famished!
Around ten they're both ready, completely awake and with just one thing on their minds : Metallica. Of course, as you can imagine the stereo has been playing Metallica songs out loud all morning. The girls decide to freshen up the lyrics. The day goes by slowly and painfully for the girls.
As they get to the arena they don't see anyone waiting to get in, they check again their tickets; it's the right date and the right place, but there's no one in sight... Anna looks at the ticket... They're two hours early... She turns to Laura without knowing if she should kill her friend or simply start laughing... She quickly decides the concert without Laura won't be any fun so she laughs, and the girls wait. And they wait... and wait. They examine the surroundings, the outside of the building, they see the staff arriving, and finally people start to arrive. So the girls get in line, the concert is getting closer... The girls start feeling butterflies on their stomach as they're about to go in, and they realise they're going to be able to be on the front row! There are dozens of people behind them but they're the fifth entrance! Great! Regardless if the boys will remmeber them or not, they'll see the whole show without having somebody's head on the way.
The time comes, the doors are opened, and everyone starts to race to get on the front row... Anna thinks that if they were there earlier they would get good places... So she starts running too, to much surprise of Laura... The girls don't run not even to catch a bus... But she's happy... The time is close!
After a while the stadium is packed... The girls are in the front row alright, but they're being squeezed, pushed and shuved... Everyone is super excited... They're going to play some new stuff and all...
Suddenly the lights go down, music starts to play... Laura and Anna's heart are ponding, everyone starts screaming... The big moment has arrived... The boys enter the stage, say hello to the audience and quickly start playing... The concert is great! And for the girls it ends way too fast, way too soon... Not James or Jason hinted to remember the girls... But they played Until it sleeps! It was the best night ever... Laura was sooooo happy, none of them minded that the boys didn't remember them... They thought about it for five seconds, but it was a great show to be spoilled with such a small detail...
Anna isn't about to spend another sleepless night, and for the moment none of the girls is willing to go home... They need to ramble before they try to have some rest... So they walk around and start checking the surrounding bars... There's one playing rock music, so they get on line to get in... The line doesn't move much, barely anyone is getting in, but the girls don't notice that because they're to busy discussing the concert... as one would expect...
All of a sudden someone starts calling: “Hey! You there! Yeah! You who were at the dinner yesterday night...” The girls were trying to understand who that person they couldn't see was talking to... But as they hear that, they realize it's actually with them... When they see who it is they smile as if they were in the concert still... It's Lars! The girls get off the line and approach him, but that turns into a kind of obstacle race... Everyone approaches him... But Lars cuts his way through the crowd and gets to the girls:
“I saw you earlier tonight! Would you ladies like to spend some quality time now that the concert is over?”
Anna isn't sure what he's trying to say : “ We're waiting to get in the club...”
“Ok! Cool! We're inside... Two lovely ladies can't be left alone outside... Come with me, I'll get you in.”
They're both suspicious, but they accept... After all it's a club... and they're inside... Oh my god! The heart's racing again, they follow Lars, who tells the doorman “These ladies are with me.” with a very important look... Inside the music is playing and the girls start to bounce... But just as they started they stop... At far they see the rest of Metallica... They start taking deep breaths but it seems nothing is working... Laura starts to blush, and Anna gets her palms sweaty...
Oh boy! The boys just saw them and they immediatly smile in signal of recognition...And what smiles... If the girls think the boys are gorgeous when they're serious, when they smiling... Oh my!... The girls' legs start shaking... They smile back, take a deep breath and they start walking towards them, always with Lars leading the way...

Hello! Thank you for your comments! It will take a while before I write some more... I've been killing my neurons :blink: , studying for a college application exam... And to help it a little more, I've been a little uninspired...:o But later next week I think I'll post something about the story... :P
