Okay, this is just me being Curious. There are some fans who would do -anything- to get further access to a band. Do you think they're sluts or is it just a case-by-case thing? Me personally? I think it's honestly a case-by-case scenario, but that's because when I met a rock star (whom I did -not- have relations with, my boyfriend actually took me to the show) he was flirting mercilessly with me several times over the half hour we were hanging out. Oh, goodness I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face when Nick walked back over and I went, "Oh! Nick this is Dr. CHUD, CHUD this is my boyfriend Nick." he looked a little confused but sort of laughed it off. But anyway furthermore on that note do you think that rock stars are pigs for accepting an offer of sexual nature from a fan? Just a question.

Well, this is an interesting topic. On the one hand, if a girl offers to sleep with a guy, most guys aren't going to say no, that's why guys form bands to get girls :rolleyes: On the other hand, promiscuous girls piss me off. I'm a feminist and I don't think that sleeping with some guy 'cause he's famous is empowering, the guy is just using them. In the documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, the guy interviewed Pamela Des Barres, a famous groupie from the seventies. She claimed that it was empowering to sleep with rock stars, that she would let her own daughter do it. I could never do that, I'm a prude and I feel girls should stop sleeping with rock stars and be musicians instead, that's a better tribute to a band than being a groupie. In the punk scene, women are more respected for being musicians instead of being sex objects, women ought to strive for that.

Groupies are sluts. Many of them don't even like the band or wouldn't like them if their boyfriends weren't into it or the singer wasn't cute. They give bands a band name and are gross.

This is a very dangerous ground because some people call groupies fans who'd do anything to get closer but only for a picture or chat. I'm one of these fans, I just love to hang out with musicians from my fave bands, even been a translator once, I wait for pictures with them but I really won't sleep with anyone, even if it comes to Jason. Does this make me a groupie? I don't think so. I personally know a groupie and I really can't respect her-she sleeps with the guys even without knowing much of their music only because they're famous. :puke:

Right, but I'm speaking about the more promiscuous females that just want to bed a rock star for the fact that they're a rock star; a Trophy nail so to speak. I admit, I've thought about it; and if I had gone to the show by myself I might have caved and gotten a bit closer with the Doc. But then again, if I had gone by myself we might have not just bullshit and laughed with eachother for a half hour after the show. I don't know, it's difficult to speculate. If I -were- going to sleep with a rock star it would be because I appreciate his art and skill as a performer, and how nice and down to Earth he was. There's several conditions that have to be met for my brain to even let a Rocker get merit in that direction, but that's just me and My opinion. Girls that want to sleep around with someone just because they're famous gross me out a little, and I probably sound like a hypocrite right now and should probably just stuff my foot in my mouth. :ugh:

I don't see myself in a position like that because all the musicians I like are as old as my dad now and it's going to be sick...for me. Anyway, I presume that it's not bad if the guy is really cool, you like him a lot, you see he's a nice person...it's going to be like sleeping with someone on the first date because you really really like that someone...Though I never do it on the first date so it won't work for me... :rolleyes:
And yes, the girls you mentioned-for me they're whores. They're not even attracted to most of the stars they fuck but they do it because the stars are...well, stars. That's sick.

I think that it's unfortunate that women feel like the only thing they can do to gain access to musicians is offer their bodies, but to me it's even more sad that many male musicians have taken advantage of that. It's a double edged sword. It pisses me off that some stupid airhead with a hot body has a better chance of getting in touch with a band/going backstage than some loyal fan who actually is familiar with the music and is a true fan.

I totally agree here. I'm not proud of myself but I started going on gigs with very "sexy" (hate this word!!!) tops in order to get some attention and the chance for a photo...I get it now and when I was going with the normal metal t-shirts-I wasn't. Yep, that's stupid. Maybe I'm stupid, but I'm too addicted to music. And I think that as a really big fan I must have a bigger chance than some slut who thinks that "Jadis" is the name of a chocolate factory!

Women are attracted to power, and men are attracted to women. It's a perfect receipie for destruction. Successful musicians have the power -- the crowd adoration, money, fame. Some women want to touch that in some way to make themselves feel powerful. It's a little sad and demeaning in my opinion, that A ) women would feel the need to do that to pump themselves up and B ) that a man would take advantange of his power. Groupies are disgusting. It's one thing to have a crush on a musician or an actor, it's another thing to be a groupie.

"Real groupies" (I mean the sluts) are proud to get a new trophy, which they can show off. But they don't see the fact that THEY are only one of hundreds or thousands of trophies in the musician's collection. They feel special, but they ARE NOT! They've only been used. In my opinion groupies are stupid. I wouldn't want to be used for anything. It's not worth it. A good chat or a nice picture with my favourite band means much more to me.

I would never jump into James', Kirk's, Phil's or Henkka's (or any) bed, even if i got the chance.
Would I go backstage if one of these idols of mine asked me to? Yes I would. I would love to have a conversation with any of them and to be in a backstage party. Would I sleep with any of them if things got "interesting"? No. I only make out with people if I'm in love or, as it has happened to me, if I get to know a guy I find attractive and end up having an awesome conversation for hours, in which we find out that we have some kind of "connection"; which only happened twice to me.

I agree with that. I would date a guy in a band if it was getting serious, but sleep with them right off? Hell no. I'm SxE for a reason.

I wouldn't jump into the bed with a "normal" guy right off, so I also wouldn't do it with rockstars.. (who are normal either) so the same "rules" apply.

Well you see i personally fancy guys with long hair whether their in bands or not. I think you have to judge each case on its own. A girl could feasibly fancy a guy in a band, still be a fan and not have any delusions of grandeur but when she met him, she might wanna hook up, the same way you'd hook up in a club.

In another case there might be a proper groupie who's hobby is to sleep with men only in bands regardless of who they are and when they do this...they make it doubly hard for some women to get close to a band without having to resort to flashing their boobs. That's the irritating thing about groupies.

Sometimes i just want to hug the guys in bands...if kirk came on to me, i think i might just cave in and shag him but...if he wasnt in a band it would be a the same result. It aint the band thing, its the hair and the whole attitude. And i probably wouldnt tell anyone, keep it to myself :D.

Mmmm..groupies?I personal think that "groupies" divides into 2 categoris:some of them don't even know from which band the rockstar comes or they don't like the band and maybe also they think that he is disgusting,and care only about his money,of course this category are sluts,and the other category:they think that a rockstar is a perfect person,very beautiful,very lovely and very kind,and they don't care about money.
I won't sleep with a rockstar,even if he is James,in special if I have a boyfriend.Even if I don't have I won't do this because if the rocsta is married I will hurt him and his family,and because I don't want just a night with someone,even if he is "perfect" or not.Of course if I would have been friend with a rockstar and after that we would start to became close than maybe I will have a such a relationship with him.

I think the whole groupie experience has kinda gone down a bit since the 80s. You still might get them but a lot of girls with metal bands for example...their interested in the band, thats not to say they wouldnt give them a hug but...their more fans than groupies.

Adultery is not attractive, ok. But if there's a guy who has a girlfriend, but he shows you that he likes you and you just happen to like him too, I think it's not bad if you take the chance to have something with him. I mean, that person is surely (let's hope so :lol: ) old enough to know what he's doing and his relationship with his girlfriend is not your business. You like that guy and you're just taking the chance you get.
Of course, this argument is also valid for guys in bands and stuff you know? If you get to know, let's say Henkka, and you end up liking each other and you have the chance to make out with him, it's not your fault if he has a girlfriend...he knows what he's doing and you just take the chance.
Of course the girlfriend has the right to hate you if that happens :lol:

mmm....i personally wouldnt do it. I dunno, i know how i'd feel if it happened to me. When it comes to band members...their gf have taken a risk and trusted that their not foolin around. I wouldnt wanna encourage it.

Although it would please me to know a guys attracted to me. Adultery is pretty selfish and greedy on the part of the person who is in a relationship. If he wants to shag several girls...dont have a gf...coz his girlfriend could be wasting time being with him and bothering.

Hmm. This is a tough one. I think that there are different types of groupies. For example; the type that just likes the band because of the members' looks. Those types of women are sluts. But, I will say that if James were single, and I had the chance, I would probably take it. Does that make me a groupie? In my opinion, it doesn't. Then again, I do have a more liberal view of sex than a lot of people.
